Cook. Travel. Eat. The Adventures of Kurt and Cristina

About Kurt

Kurt’s Bio

My name is Kurt.  I like to cook, eat, and travel. And because those are experiences best shared, I had to find the perfect person. Cristina and I have worked together since 2005…she makes it hard for me to hate Katrina. I finally realized in 2010 that I need her around full-time, so I asked her to marry me. Lucky me, she said yes.

Even though I’m a Cajun by blood, I have never considered myself a real Cajun outside of my taste buds. I’ve never been hunting and only been fishing a handful of times (and caught maybe three edible fish total). My mom is a good cook but a better baker, yet I never paid attention to the kitchen growing up anyway. That won’t stop me from trying to become a good cook now.

I went to Nicholls State University where I majored in History and minored in English which fully prepared me for my job as web and graphic design teacher. I know enough to teach my students and not much more so this blog will also be a learning experience for me. Also, I minored in English because girls majored in English, not to master the language. Therefore, I’m prone to make lots of grammatical and spelling mistakes…especially with homophones.

Recently, I used to hate to travel.

Mainly, it was because I didn’t want to travel alone. Well, Cristina has changed all that and we are now traveling fools it seems like. Poor pity me, she has relatives in Panama City Beach and Orlando, Florida. And to make matters worse, her father is from Sulmona, Italy and has brothers in Melbourne, Australia. It’s such a pain having to go visit the in-laws, if by pain I actually mean a pleasure. We haven’t been to Melbourne yet, but we are working on it. Last summer, we spent the month in Europe. We both want to revisit our journals and share some of our experiences from that trip in this blog. And we plan many future trips, and we are looking forward to sharing those experiences with anyone who wants to read them.
